I have never understood dressing up to go to a sporting event. Tonight I went to a hockey game and I just can't understand what the point of dressing up as a spectator is. Of course I understand when you have to dress up because you are bringing a client or taking a date to the game but otherwise I do not understand it. If you wear anything besides jeans and a jersey you shouldn't be at a game.
The women who wear the tight skirts and suits with stiletto heals think they are going to a club. A game is somewhere a person can dress down relax and have a few beers. A rule of thumb should be if you are going somewhere that serves hot dogs you should not dress up. It is not only women who do this. Men are guilty of the same thing as well. Maybe it is because they know it is a good way to meet people, in a lighthearted state. So these people are dressing to impress.
This is strange you wouldn't think to go to a game to pick up chicks or to meet guys would you? So why do people do it? Maybe dressing up to a game is something everybody should do so they can meet more and more people. But I still don't understand it.

Snow Time Can be Style Time
When it starts to get cold people start to bundle up, trying to get warm. Often times people compromise style in order to stay warm in the bitter cold months. Some people think it is impossible to stay and stay in style. This is far from the truth.
Combining the right layers together and the right jackets can provide you with the stunning outfit that will keep you looking amazing.
The horrible winter sweaters that people talk about are not necessarily the wrong thing. It is whether you choose the right one. The ones with the holiday pictures, like Santa or a Christmas tree are awful. Being festive is ok but just choose a sweater that is a holiday color instead of one that has the overly obvious holiday sweaters. Also you can wear the red or the green after Christmas.
Snow boots are a hard things to make trendy but if you buy the right ones or make sure they fit underneath your jeans properly then you should be good. Wearing them over the pants takes a special type of boot that has a special look to it. Ugg boots are very warm and they work for the purpose they were designed for, keeping feet warm. But the typical style that Ugg uses is ugly. Ugg does have other styles that work better for actually walking though snow and in the rain. These boots have a style that works a lot better with the winter looks. Because the traditional Ugg should only be worn for comfort and times when you are trying to relax.
So the excuse people make that there is no way to be stylish in the winter are wrong. It is just all about making the right decisions.

She is Dressed like a Whore!
Today the more skin is in. Designers are putting sheer garments on the run way and making there lines skimpier and skimpier. With these many short skirts and low cut shirts flooding the market, the level of what is socially acceptable to wear has been stretched to the limit. How much is too much? Or should I say how little is to little?
People judge by the way you dress so if you wear what is in style are you going to show to much skin? I guess now there is a time and a place for the skimpy in style outfits. Conservative is in for the work place. So many girls remember the days when dad was making them go change before they left the door. Should people think with this mentality even after they have left the view of their fathers?
Seeing the abundance of skin proposes a small problem. Some girls are showing skin without being in style or without paying attention to the rest of there body is looking. If you are going to show skin you need to make sure you are working out, your hair looks good, and you don't try to dress down in without a matching outfits. Wearing loose work out clothes outside of the gym is not the way to do it. People need to cover up unless they are going all out.
When going all out with the skimpy outfit how are you going to keep people from thinking you are dressed like a whore? My suggestion is to mix the skimpiness with something in a classic cut. The always sexy classic weskit with nothing underneath works well with pants. Classic and skimpy makes a girl who wants to show skin look classy instead of trashy. This is the only successful way to show skin without looking to slutty.
So ladies when you are picking out your outfit and want it to show a little skin for a night on the town keep these things in mind. Just cause you want to show some skin doesn't mean you have to look slutty.

Plaid
With plaid being back in are people going to be looking like lumber jacks all the time? I know it is comfortable and warm but how are people going to avoid looking like there on the river riding the logs? People will have to accessorize the right way. Wearing solid suit vest won't do it on there own. The shirt needs to be the right size.
Unless you are wearing the plaid at home as your pj's than wearing an over sized shirt is not gonna work. I have seen many women walking around with these paid shirts. Although the colors that look fantastic with their skin tones. They don't fit. And it completely kills their outfit. The colors do wonderful things to peoples moods. Put people in good spirits kind of warm like holidays.
Mixing the plaids is an absolute no no. If you are going to wear plaid make sure if you are wearing another element to your outfit that has plaid or a patterned fabric you match the patterns. Mixing patterns with a busy fabric like plaid is gross and if you do it by accident you should change right away.

Be Careful: Its time for the fun Colors of Fall.
Oranges, muted reds, blacks and browns are the always popular colors of fall. This makes me feel some what limited in what I wear but at the same time it lets me be creative in choosing the proper outfit for an event or just for going out with friends.
I have always been a fan of layering and fall provides every occasion for doing so. The contrasting colors that go together ever so well really make me enjoy getting dressed for the day. Wearing a the brown and white thermal shirts under any short sleeve tee shirt or polo work for almost every occasion in the fall. Just warm enough for the outdoors and very breathable for the inside wear people question if its time for air conditioning or heat. Mixing any of the colors in the intro will do well with any thermal underneath.
As it gets closer to Halloween you may feel the need to start breaking out the popular pumpkin orange sweater this atrocious color of sweater is only acceptable if you during the period close to Halloween through thanksgiving but no other time. It is a very bold color to wear but often does not fit the attention that the often portly people are trying to get. The way to combat this attention is to mute it down with a dark brown sports coat making a statement but looking reserved in doing so.
Also with these wonderful colors you have to take into consideration that they are all bold and can often give the wrong impression or may just be to bold for that persons personality. When wearing clothes for the fall it is important to know that the more muted the better. But if you are looking to be noticed muted with a touch of bold is the way to go.

Tattoos Get Strange and Varying Reactions
I was at a wedding this weekend. And as usual the garden that it was in was decorated beautifully. As I watched in anticipation for the bride to walk down the Aile I got distracted by the extremely large tattoos on all of the brides maids arms and backs. This just looked extremely trashy to me with tattoos sticking out and over powering the dress that they were wearing. I realize and respect the art that is involved in the art of tattoos but I could not take my eyes off of it. Even after the bride had walked down the Aile I was distracted. Part of the reason it bothered me so much is because my father leaned over next to me and said something about it. I didn't notice it before.
After the ceremony it was brought up by one of my aunts who is extremely liberal. She was disgusted by them. Is there just a stigma that the older generation holds about tattoos or is it really just a sign of the low class. I often find myself stunned by the ink people are wearing now. Some of it being beautiful designs and some of it being extremely trashy. How can someone know which one they have. I do think if you do have something so important you should be proud of the design and show it off. But there is a time and a place.
People need to learn how to cover it up for situations that call for special events that need a little more formal look. One solution would be to get a tattoo in a place wear it is easy to cover up with many different outfits. They don't go with every look people need to understand that. The only times it goes is if you are going for that ruff around the edges artsy person or a rugged hard type of person. Any other time it is not appropriate. Unless going casual then its up in the air.

Pants to Short to be Cool
Sometimes people do not get pants that are long enough. I hate this. People that do this just look goofy and like they do not know how to dress themselves. This fashion foe pas has been sticking it's head out all of the place. The majority of people who where pants that are too short for them are researching, analytical, and educational fields usually in the science, history, and computation and record keeping fields. The problem here is there lack of fashion guidance. Someone needs to take charge and figure out how to inform them about the proper length and a frame of reference of wear at minimum pant length.
Pants need to unless they are skinny jeans need to cover at least the top part of the tongue of a shoe or to about an inch lower than your ankle meets your foot. These tips should provide the proper length without question. Also finding a proper tailor can also guarantee that you will not look like a fool when you wear pants.
